To Know Him - Audio
Last Sunday I preached on Philippians 3:1-10.My main focus was on knowing Jesus, and how the worth of knowing Jesus is infinitely valuable and eternal. Why is this? Because knowing Jesus Christ and being known of Him is worthy of eternal life...spending forever seeking to know more and more about the one who died for the sins of His people and raises them to new life. On the other hand, to not know Jesus and to not be known of Him is worthy of eternal separation from the blessedness of God and infinite punishment that will not cease day or night. Jesus in Matthew 7:23 tells those whom He did not know "Depart from me...I never knew you".
This message really hits home because we see that knowing Jesus Christ is delighting in Him and knowing Him is making Him our treasure. In a world that makes sports, careers, houses, money, and friends our treasure..where does Christ fit in and do our lives speak that we are living for Him and to know Him...or do they testify that we are seeking after the rotten treasures of this world??
